97 Points - 2016 Whimwood Chardonnay - BUY HERE
As usual, the chardonnay class was strong, but the continued dominance of Whimwood Estate was the main talking point.
Never in the 30 year history of Winewise has a wine dominated like this one. This is its second Small Vigneron Awards trophy, and it has a Championship medallion as well. If you haven’t bought it by now, you take a lot of convincing. It’s just as good as ever, retaining its freshness, and showing Meursault-like complexity to enhance the intense flavour. ★★★★★
97 Points - 2018 Whimwood Chardonnay
It looks like another Whimwood chardonnay is on the rise. The taste-off for top chardonnay was a two-horse race (between the 16 & 18 Whimwood Chardonnay), according to all three judges. The family resemblance is strong, with fig/white peach fruit supported by nutty/funky complexity. The palate is long, delivering texture, intensity and a good line of acidity. 2020 Halliday Wine Companion
94 Points - 2017 Whimwood Shiraz - BUY HERE
From a 0.5ha block, hand-picked, sorted and post-fermentation remained on skins for 14 days. This has given body, depth and detail. Red and black fruit, brown spices and fine savoury tannins, 30% new oak all soaked up.

94 Points - 2017 Whimwood Chardonnay - BUY HERE
Another cracking good chardonnay from this little producer which in a few years has created quite a reputation for the quality of its chardonnays. Ripe fig and butterscotch with minerally stone fruit and mealy grapefruit edges. A powerful linear palate that has tremendous promise. Like it.
